👙 We live in society where wearing little clothing is seen as acceptable, almost ‘fashionable’ yet dressing modestly and in particular, covering the hair with a headscarf is seen as backwards. When it is seen on fashion runways, it is cool but as a religious reason, it is oppressive. It’s so ironic that the same western countries who claim to be all about ‘freedom’ are the same ones who are taking away these rights.

🧕🏽 I suppose that one of the main reasons why wearing a Hijab may appear more difficult than other obligatory acts such as Salat, is that it is something physical and visible for everyone to see. Other acts can be performed in private, however, this is something which is publicly evident and therefore, can make us worry about how others will perceive us.

🎉 Having just celebrated the Birth of our Lady of Light and with it being World Hijab Day tomorrow, what better than to understand the importance of observing Hijab and learning from Sayyida Fatima (as) herself?

🧕🏽 Imam Sajjad (as) narrates that:
Once a blind man sought permission from Fatima to enter her house, and when he entered, Fatima hid from his sight. The Prophet, who was present and a witness to this scene, said: ‘Fatima, why did you hide from him when he can’t see you?’ She replied, ‘O Prophet of God, although he cannot see me, I can see him and my scent will reach him.’ The Prophet praised her and said, ‘I bear witness that you are a part of me.'

👑 This teaches us that Hijab is more than just a piece of cloth. It is something deeper that encompasses everything from the way we speak, to how we smell, act and dress.

😓 Hijab is a constant struggle for many of us, with many who have not yet taken on this responsibility wondering if it is too late for them to start. 📝 We may have read many times in the Qur’an that Allah is the best of planners, but have we truly felt this?

🕰 Many times in life, something may happen at a certain time which makes you stop in your tracks and think that wow - You really knew that NOW was the best time for me. The precision, timing, the way that the Almighty perfectly plans until the very last detail often is truly mind-blowing and unbelievable. It is not for nothing that some refer to God as the Grand Architect - He truly IS the best of planners.

⚖️ Allah only tests us with what we can handle and hence, we are all tested differently. From the smallest atom to everything in the entire universe, God has created everything in its due measure. Therefore, the difficulties in this world are perfectly balanced and measured with the chastisements in the Hereafter.

🗓 This year has been difficult for many; there have been ups and downs and many uncertainties of what is to come. But what is certain is that everything in life and sustenance has been created in due measure with perfect planning since all His Acts are based on His divine wisdom and omniscience.

🔐 As we say close the chapter on this year, remember that things can change as fast as the twinkling of an eye. He simply says ‘Be’ and whatever He wills will come into being
