Gifting others is part of Islam
Even though our focus in Shahr Ramadan is spirituality and ibadah (worship), there is nothing wrong with taking a moment out to prepare a gift list and ordering these early.
We all know how busy the days leading up to Eid are, especially the last 10 days and the nights of Qadr. Before you know it, Eid will be here and usually, the day can be super busy – from morning Eid prayers to visiting family and preparing food, the last thing you want to be doing is frantically putting gifts together!
As mentioned in my Ramadan gift ideas post, it is part of Islam and sunnah to exchange Eid greetings and give gifts to spread joy and love. It shows our Akhlaq (good manners) and strengthens ties with believers and family.
A person who is not able to present us with a gift should give it to the righteous ones from among our followers. It will be written for him as a reward for presenting a gift to us!1
IMAM MUSa al-kadhim
One of the practices of the Prophet (saw) was to give gifts to those younger than him, especially children.
‘Aishah reported, “Najashi, the king of Abyssinia, sent a golden ring to the Prophet, which had been made in Abyssinia. The Prophet called Umamah, the daughter of Abu al-‘As and said, ‘My dear little daughter, adorn yourself with this gift.’2
So, to save you the time and energy in thinking of what to gift your dear ones, here are some great Eid gift ideas to get you encouraged and highlight some amazing Muslim-owned businesses!
The Ultimate Eid Gift Ideas Guide
For Him – Eid Gift Ideas
I truly believe that the hardest gifts to buy are for the men in our lives. There are so many products geared towards women and kids but for men, it is usually just socks and ties!
Beard Grooming Products
We love these high-quality beard-grooming products that are perfect for taming those wild beards! Montreal-based business Elegance Beard uses all-natural ingredients with essential oils that are great for nourishing both skin and beard.
Their best-seller item is the beard brush. It is extremely important to note that the majority of beard brushes on the market use ‘boar bristles.’ This brush is made with real wood and has halal vegan bristles so it is the perfect brush for Muslim men.
My husband loved how soft the brush is and uses it daily, even just for exfoliating, as the skin under the beard rarely gets any TLC!
Alongside the brush, make sure to add this handy little beard apron which may be more of a gift for her than for him! Finally, something that catches all those pesky little hairs after a trim.
Journal for Muslims Seeking More
We love these stylish and neutral journals, specially designed for ‘Muslims seeking more.’ After the month of Ramadan where destinies will be re-written, what a perfect time to start the journey of journaling?
As Jeem Journal describes it: Inspire more peace, purpose, and productivity in your life. The Jeem Journal is a guided journal containing short, structured exercises and inspiration to help you make the most of yourself every day.
